Dr. Alice Prince stepped down as director of the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment.

26 Apr

“I care too much about our community to allow distractions to impede our ability to train and employ our people,” Prince said. “I’m available to answer any questions to ensure a smooth transition because, at the end of the day, it’s about the people.”

Mayor Lyda Krewson accepted Prince’s resignation Thursday afternoon.

“I appreciate the enthusiasm, creativity and engagement that Dr. Prince brought to SLATE,” Krewson said. “The issues at SLATE pre-date Dr. Prince.”

Prince was first appointed director in September 2017. Previously, she served as SLATE’s Young Adult Workforce Division Director.

Stephen Conway, chief of staff to the mayor, will work with SLATE staff to maintain normal business operations until a new director is appointed.

Mayor Krewson has not set a timetable for a new hire.
